Recording Failures

Recording failures do occasionally occur, due to both human error and technical failure.

If the Lectopia team discovers that there has been a recording failure, the lecturer will be notified immediately. Conversely, if a lecturer should discover that there has been a failure in the recording process, they should contact the Lectopia team at lectopia@uwa.edu.au to advise them of this.

Once a recording failure has been identified, the Lectopia team will attach a note to the failed lecture recording link to inform students that the lecture is not available online. This will reduce the number of problem reports to the team and the lecturer.

It may be necessary, or desirable, for the lecture to be re-recorded.  If this is the case, the lecturer should book a suitable venue for the re-recording (usually a Lectopia-enable venue booked through the Venues Office via venues@admin.uwa.edu.au or on 6488 1779) and advise the Lectopia team of the new recording information (day/time/venue/etc.). Alternatively lecturers could re-record the lecture on a tape or mini-disk at home or in the office and send it to the Lectopia team for manual processing.

Note that if there is a repeat lecture, the Lectopia team might be able to make that available online in the place of the failed recording.
